About Jordan
I'm Jordan Kelly – a veteran in the arena of strategy-driven, high-stakes communication.
I’ve spent the past two decades of my career crafting mission-critical, deal-clinching communications – and facilitating and/or formulating the strategies on which they have been based.
In these more recent years of my career, the convergence of my research, strategy facilitation skills, and my writing prowess has seen me specialise in producing blueprints and big-ticket bid content for clients in B2G and B2B sectors.
Winning these (often nationally significant megaprojects) has required a detailed understanding not only of my own clients’ strategies, but also of their client organisations, and the discernible strategies of their competitors.

'. . . ALWAYS SURPRISED AT THE CHALLENGING BRIEFS JORDAN CAN EXECUTE . . .'
(Long-time Client & Industry Leader)
It’s a skillset that’s deep, and broad and diverse, all at the same time. It’s also one that includes formidable sharps when working with C-suite executives to help them hone their thoughts and clarify their communication objectives. And, of the utmost importance. I ensure those communiques – written, oral or otherwise – are conveyed in their own unique voice.
It's a natural talent that’s been honed throughout the course of four decades, serving employers and clients from entrepreneurs to CEOs and Chairpersons, and in a
huge range of industries.
Decades of Support to the C-Suite in Strategy-Driven, Image-Critical Communications Roles
Before my most recent specialisation and the authorship of more than a dozen specialist books and academic (but readable!) textbooks in marketing, marcoms, bid strategy and bid writing, I ran a more general consultancy. Some of my key services involved producing Annual Reports (both the print production and the key written components thereof), CEOs’ board reports and media releases, and providing media training for directors and senior executives.
Back further, my resume included daily journalism, subediting, agricultural journalism and photography, trade journal editing, and international industry research and competitive intelligence. It also included time as a public relations consultant to New Zealand’s then-largest PR consultancy, Network Communications, and a National PR and brand management position with Australia’s then-largest wine conglomerate, Berri Renmano Wines (which I later serviced for some years as a core client in my own marcoms consultancy).
The Early Days: Political Speechwriter & Ministerial Press Secretary
Very early career days included my role as a (Government) ministerial press secretary and Governor General speechwriter (at age 20, New Zealand’s then-youngest).
More novel CV inclusions have been a series of multi-year, mobile and memorable assignments on behalf of two different corporate collectives that saw me stationed in the United Kingdom, the United States, Southeast Asia and South Africa, analysing the strategies and activities of the fierce global competitors of my clients’ industries.
I’ve also done a stint in the military . . . in officer training in the Army Reserves, at Australia’s Royal College of Duntroon (with an ardent desire to learn the secrets of military intelligence).
My first book (an industry-specific, hardcover text on public relations) was published when I was 24.
